THE SELF-CONFIDENCE OF A WARRIOR

Updated: Apr 16, 2020

When facing challenges or a crisis, it is important to dig deep inside and bring out the confidence that you thought you never had.

COVID-19 is not only a contagious virus that has affected millions around the world and took the lives of thousands of innocent people, but has managed to cripple the world's economy over night. Day after day we hear of businesses shutting down, supermarkets running out of stock, people getting salary cuts or made redundant. But it's the end of the world!

It doesn't matter whether you are rich or poor, strong or weak, energetic or lazy; whether you love playing or watching sports, you are a party animal or a couch potato; these are crazy times for each and every human being. Believe it or not, the #COVID19 has indirectly united us; made us all the same regardless of our status quo.

One of my favorite quotes by Carlos Castaneda ~

“The self-confidence of the warrior is not the self-confidence of the average man. The average man seeks certainty in the eyes of the onlooker and calls that self-confidence. The warrior seeks impeccability in his own eyes and calls that humbleness. The average man is hooked to his fellow men, while the warrior is hooked only to infinity.”

Whether we like it or not, this might be the best time of our lives. A time for us to reflect on who we really are and what we really want to achieve in our lives. It's in times like these that we need to see the positives in every situation.

I am sure these times are tough for many; I am one of those people, but this doesn't mean I need to panic and see the dark side of this period of time. If you feel like you need to be worried, then make sure it's only about your health and the health of those surrounding you. This #pandemic knows no mercy and doesn't care about you or your loved ones.

So don't let anything that got affected by this situation affect your morale and self-confidence. Everything around us will bounce back and so will you. Job opening will return, restaurants and shops will re-open, and everything will normalize again. It's all a matter of time; just be patient and make use this time for self-reflection and remember that the best is yet to come.

Let your self-confidence come in handy.

It's in times like these where your confidence would make a difference in your life. Let me tell you in a few points how your self-confidence will help you move forward.

  • You need to tell yourself over and over again that this is just temporary and no matter how long it takes, it will end.

  • Now is the best time to re-assess yourself, your life, and your choices. Don't tell me everything is good, because I am sure you can add more to your story.

  • If you are in a comfortable position in your life, how can you help and support others? There are many people now who might be looking for the simplest kind of guidance.

If I were to reword the Peter Parker Principle, I would now say, "With great challenges comes great self-confidence." Being confident doesn't only affect you as person; it is all about:

And the list goes on.

Let us not forget ~

"With great challenges comes great self-confidence."

One day, you should look back and remember that despite the fact that the COVID-19 period was one of the worst times in anyone's life, it was a great one for you and your self-confidence.

I am saying this because you should act now! Take advantage of this time to realize the important aspects of your life and the power of the confidence that lies within you.

And most important, remember to #stayhome #staysafe #savelives.
